CABLES
FOR THERMOCOUPLES
AND THERMORESISTORS |
SPECIAL EXTENSION CABLES FOR THERMOCOUPLES
These are cables made of the same materials as for elements
of the thermocouple itself and tested to the same temperature.
COMPENSATING CABLES FOR THERMOCOUPLES
Rigid or flexible "compensating" conductors in substitute
materials are formed from alloys wich do not have to be identical to the
related thermocouple.
However, substiturte material also means that the thermoelectrical
properties in the range of temperatures permissible for the compensating
cable are identical to those for the related thermocouple.
The insulating materials
used in producing them are as follows:
PVC
- Flame-resistant with optimum mechanical properties, optimum resistance
to water and to benzines.
SILICONE
- Self-extinguishing with absence of black smoke in the event of fire,
and retention of insulating properties. Total absence of halogens
and no development of corrosive gases.
TEFLON®
- Extremely high thermal stability within a wide temperature interval and
an exceptional mechanical resistance. The very much reduced dimensions
and optimum resistance to radiations render the cables made with these
resins suitable for use in the aerospace field and in thermal, electrical
and nuclear power plant.
FIBREGLASS
- Insulation on the cables is made up of a braid applied on to the conductor
and appropriately impregnated with suitable resins wich improve the electrical
and mechanical properties. The glass fibre is also used as secondary thermal
and mechanical protection on already insulated cables.
