HIGH TEMPERATURE SPECIAL CABLES
Silicone rubber or silicone elastomer, is a polymer consisting of a chain of silicon atoms - oxygen and of methyly, phenyl and vinyl radicals which provide the finished product with various characteristics.
In the electric cable industry, mainly silicone elastomers are used, which obtain their technical and elastic qualities with the addition of suitable "filters" and after a heat treatment.
Furthermore, silicone resins in a solution are used to coat the strands of fibreglass that are used to provide additional mechanical protection.
Insulated silicone rubber cables are used where special properties of resistance are required, both to the heat and to the cold, and for difficult working conditions, the production of heating and lighting equipment, in ships, planes, cement factories, glassworks, potteries, for the manufacture of engines, household appliances, etc.
Our cable insulated with silicone rubber have excellent electrical characteristics, they are insensitive to damp, oxygen and ozone and therfore, they are especially resistant to atmospheric agents and to ageing.
The dielectric loss and constant factors remain unaltered under a wide range of temperatures ( from -20 ºC to +200 ºC).
For use under difficult mechanical conditions or for insertion into tubes, it is advisable to use silicone cables fitted with a further protective fibreglass sheath.
